Nonprofits Assistance Fund is seeking qualified candidates to serve as our Accountant, a key member of our operations team.
The Accountant carries out the ongoing bookkeeping and accounting functions of the organization, including accounts payable and cash disbursements, accounts receivable and cash receipts, maintenance of bank and investment accounts, and general ledger postings and reconciliations. This position also prepares monthly financial reports, maintains the cost allocation system, and assists with the preparation of the annual audit and IRS Form 990. This is a part-time position (averaging 15 hours per week), and there is some flexibility in work hours.
The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of two years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. Experience in nonprofit accounting or bookkeeping is highly desirable, as is experience with Peachtree software.
