“Michael, our loan officer, helped us get our financials in order. He asked great questions and helped me structure a budget for cash flow. He never hesitates to call or to send resources; he’s always really supportive.”

Julie Sand, Managing Director (former) at TU Dance

TU Dance reaches across dance styles and traditions to celebrate the connective power of dance. In the early years, TU Dance operated on a project to project basis which made it hard to manage cash flow. Unable to get a loan from a bank in 2006, TU Dance came to Nonprofits Assistance Fund. That's when TU Dance realized in order to make their vision-- to make dance accessible for all -- a reality, they needed more structure and a place to call home. In 2010, they returned to NAF for a bridge loan to build a new dance center. With this new space, TU Dance looks forward to developing a program where economic access isn’t a barrier, and providing high-quality dance instruction and performance to Minnesota and beyond.
