"We are proud to partner with NeDA as they help make affordable housing a reality for more families."

Neighborhood Development Alliance (NeDA) is a nonprofit community development corporation formed to assist in the revitalization of low-income neighborhoods on the West Side of Saint Paul by creating and preserving housing and business opportunities.  The mission of NeDA is to build affordable housing and empower communities to create sustainability through financial education and guidance.

NeDA was formed in 1989 and started developing both housing and commercial buildings through rehab work and new construction. NeDA expanded the scope of its efforts by launching bilingual home ownership and financial education programming.  NeDA provides culturally specific financial education services to the Latino community in the seven county Twin Cities metro area.  NeDA guides families on how to successfully purchase their first home, provides support to current homeowners in financial crisis to avoid foreclosure, and offers a full-spectrum of financial and credit counseling.

NeDA has built or rehabbed 175 homes on the West Side of Saint Paul, has counseled 4500 individuals on how to safely and successfully buy a home, and has achieved $30 million in real estate development in the East Metro area.

As NeDA began to develop a new 40-unit affordable housing and 3000-square-foot commercial project, they encountered higher than expected costs for soil remediation. NAF is honored to provide NeDA a loan as it continues to help more families secure affordable housing on the West Side of Saint Paul.
