"I’ve enjoyed working with Brenda Bailey and Wendy Hines at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. They were helpful in getting the information that I needed and I am glad that we were able to provide the financings for their leasehold improvements."

Lu Hang, Loan Officer/Financial Specialist, Nonprofits Assistance Fund

Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church believes that community means more than their congregation — it means their whole neighborhood in South Minneapolis. Since its founding in 1959 the church has been deeply involved in the community. Their affiliated nonprofits now operate programs and community services in healthcare, addiction recovery, poverty reduction and aging services. They also host a high performing charter school in their building. When GFMBC needed financing to improve two nearby properties that were an eyesore for the neighborhood, NAF was able to respond quickly and with the loan terms that met their needs. With a new roof, siding, windows and doors, the buildings are now assets to the community. That's how we'd describe the church, too.
